Adventure Scrapbook – Odd Top Tourist Site

Crowds gather on the beach at the end of the runway in St. Maarten to watch, and feel, incoming aircraft. No large jets came in during the short time we were there, but the sensation as the small aircraft skimmed the crowd was enough to be able to imagine the impact from the big jets. The activity is discouraged, yet the crowds descend on the beach daily and it’s one of the top tourist attractions on the island. I won’t judge since clearly I caved to temptation and made a brief stop.
